Heroes was one of my favorite shows so don’t take this the wrong way. I love everything superheroes and even the so-called bad movies and TV shows. I find this genre of entertainment to be very interesting. Heroes was the ultimate TV show for this genre, when it started. Presently, Heroes seems like it is nothing more than a drama that doesn’t know what direction it is heading in. Heroes was always a little slow because of the character development and the many different characters that have been a part of the show. I tolerated that slowness when it inevitably lead to the action and suspense that I was longing for with the buildup. This season, they either just don’t know how to make the show exciting or their budget was cut drastically. I was expecting more action than ever this season and the eventual battles of the good vs. bad characters. Instead, they took powers away from the most interesting characters and just continued to follow the similar story lines of the X-men franchise.
If only the 4400, on USA, had the budget of Heroes. The 4400 was much more creative and I am still upset it was cancelled prematurely. If NBC and the writers of Heroes want to salvage this show, they need to turn up the volume. We need to start seeing some regular action on the show as well as original story lines. Stop giving people the same powers, give people back their powers, stop introducing boring characters and stop hiding the existence of these powers from the world that Heroes takes place in. The show can be so much more interesting and entertaining. Stop trying so hard to be a drama and become the sci-fi/fantasy show that we have always wanted to see on broadcast television.
